Ethnology and Culturology Journal is the scientific journal published by the Centre of Ethnology of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the ASM. The Journal is accredited by the ANACEC in the “A” Category.
The journal is reviewed (each article is reviewed by two reviewers and discussed at the meetings of the editorial board).
Ethnology and Cultorology Journal has open access. This means that the materials published in the journal are available free to readers. Open access supposes that readers are allowed to download, quote, distribute by respecting the copyright – indicating the sources and authors for quotations, without permission of the editorial board and authors.
The authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
Ethnology and Cultorology Journal was founded in 2006 by the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the ASM as the scientific journal of the Ethnology Centre.
The mission of the Journal is to publish scientific works: monographic studies, synthesis articles, reviews, information materials about the national and international scientific life (congresses, conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia), as well as chronicles, archival documents covering innovative topics in the humanistic field: Ethnology and Cultorology.
The Ethnology and Cultorology Journal appears quarterly in an edition of 200 copies and it is distributed free on request in all public libraries and scientific centres of humanistic profile. It is also distributed free in the electronic version from the official website of the Journal in the Archives section
The Journal accepts for publication scientific papers from the country and abroad in English, Romanian and Russian.
The members of the Editorial Board of the Journal are well-known specialists in ethnology, culturology, history of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria and other countries. The information about them can be viewed in the Editorial Board Section.
The publication of the Journal is done for non-commercial purposes. No taxes are collected or fees offered for publishing materials in the Ethnology and Cultorology Journal. Honoraria are not paid for reviewing the materials submitted for publication.

In particular, the Journal reflects the results of research conducted within the Ethnology and Cultorology Centre. The specialists of the Centre deal with complex research of the cultural heritage of ethnic groups cohabiting the Republic of Moldova contributing to a better mutual knowledge and scientific approach to the policies in the field of localization and conservation of the ethno-cultural heritage and interethnic relations.
The Editorial Board of the Journal of Ethnology and Culturology commits to the internationally accepted principles of publication ethics expressed in the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
The journal does have not article processing charges (APCs) and submission submission charges.
