The integration of emigrants from the Moldavian principality in Russian society during the XVIII century The history of migration flows from the Moldovan Princi-pality to the neighboring countries is one of the most re-searched topics of the modern historiography. Numerous publications address the reasons of migration occurrence, its forms and intensity of traffic and the demographic con-sequences for the Principality. This article is dedicated to a less researched side of the Moldovan immigration to Rus-sia during the XVIII century and the problem of their inte-gration into the Russian society. Based on numerous doc-uments, the majority of which are being introduced into the academic circuit for the first time, the author identifies the main social groups of immigrants and the specifics of their process of integration. Documental analysis portrays the policies pursued by the Russian government to create favorable conditions to simplify the naturalization of the newly arrived from the Moldovan Principality.
