Rezumat
Lucrarea reflectă dezbaterile principale în istoriografie despre locul și rolul coloniștilor bulgari la dezvoltarea Basarabiei. Este analizată istoriografia bulgară, rusă, ucraineană, moldovenească și română, care scot în evidență probleme ce ţin de procesele etnice și demografice care au avut loc pe teritoriul Basarabiei. Au fost prezentatе pe larg principalele realizări ale oamenilor de știință și cercetătorilor de istorie locală care, în activitatea lor de cercetare științifică, au investigat istoria bulgarilor basarabeni.

Резюме
В статье отражены ключевые историографические дискуссии о месте и роли болгарских колонистов в развитии Бессарабии. Анализируется болгарская, русская, украинская, молдавская и румынская историография, где освещался вопрос об этнических и демографических процессах, произошедших на территории Бессарабии. Комплексно представлены основные заслуги ученых и краеведов, которые в своих научных разработках исследовали историю бессарабских болгар.

Summary
The article shows fundamental historiographical debates on the place and role of the Bulgarian colonists in the development of Bessarabia. Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Moldavian and Romanian historiography is analyzed, ethnic and demographic processes, which have taken place on the territory of Bessarabia, being elucidated. The author studies in details the activity of scientists and ethnographers, whose research interests and achievements determine the main research trends in the study of Bessarabian Bulgarians.
